Aswem Travel Guide

Aswem Overview

Aswem is a quiet stretch of sand less and 5 Km south of Mandrem Beach in Goa, India. Turning into one of the more trendy destinations in northern Goa, Aswem has recently become home to a couple upscale boutique beach resorts, happening party spots and fashion beach shack “Jade”, by Jade Jagger.   Still a quite beach, so don’t expect much activity on or off the beach - the big draw to Aswem is ones ability to chill in the sun.

Swimming conditions are prime at Aswem so be sure to take a dip and cool off before you head back to your cabana style beach bed.   The vibe at Aswem is very mellow, and expect to bump into tourists who are on long-term holiday between going to the beach, the sea and local restaurants.   Beach shacks lined the back of the beach and there are plenty of affordable accommodation options, as well as a few upscale properties.

Getting in and out of Aswem is probably best by taxi, however the bus from Arambol, Anjuna and Mapusa does stop in Aswem. Once in Aswem it is easy enough to navigate by foot and any of the local restaurants will help you find a scooter or motorcycle rental.

Things to do in Aswem

Aswem Beach

The beach at Aswem is the big draw. Days are lazy at Aswem and people usually head out to the beach in the early afternoon and claim their beach bed or piece of sand. At the north end of the beach you can find the hip restaurant and party spot called Shanti Aswem which is a cool place to hang during the day or in the evenings. Further south you can find several beach huts to shade you from the sun and a hand full of beach side boutique clothing shops including Jade (by Jade Jagger).

If you’re into Kite Surfing you may want to check out Morjim Beach directly to the south where you can get kite surfing instruction and rentals.

Visit nearby beaches of Arambol, Mandrem, Morjim, Vagator, Anjuna, Baga, Calangute, Candolim and Sinquerim
