Overview :
Hotels and places to sleep : Twin Palm @ 39 - this is a great boutique hotel, with big rooms, work area and free wifi.  I forgot the exact price, but I remember I could not believe how affordable it was.  Located in Sukhumvit on Soi 39.  web: www.twinpalm39.com  email: twinpalm39@hotmail.com  tel: 02662 3732

Villa Cha-Cha - Located in the Khao San Road area, they have nice rooms with a pool and restaurant.  check out my video of Villa Cha-Cha  web: www.villachacha.com tel: 02280 1024

Fusion Suites - Hip boutique style hotel located on Soi 21 in Sukhumvit.  Web: www.fusionbangkok.com  tel:  03665 2644

Ma Du Zi Hotel - If you're looking to pamper yourself and kick down some money, this is a great option.  Very exclusive and hip property.  Web: www.maduzihotel.com  tel: 02615 6400
Eating and drinking : If you want to eat like the Thais (at Thai prices) then check out the noodle stands on Sukhumvit Soi 38.  And directly across Sukhumvit you will find the best Phad Thai in Bangkok.

There are a bunch a very nice Japanese, Korean and Thai restaurants on Tong Lo Soi 10
Bars, clubs and nightlife : Q Bar in Sukhumvit is a great place.  People are normal (big expat hangout) and it's not full of Bar Girls.  It's probably one of the few normal spots I found in Bangkok.

Then if you want to mix it up with some Bar Girls, Soi Coyboy is just down the street.
Shopping and things to buy : MBK on Sukhumvit has everything electronic.  If you need a phone, blackberry, camera, etc go to MBK.
