Flores Overview

The vibrant city of Flores can be found on an enchanting island on Lake Petén Itzá in Guatemala and has long been a popular destination with visitors who are searching for a taste of the exotic. This former Spanish outpost is famed for its pretty pastel-coloured buildings, which can be found in the very heart of the island and are often converted into charming hotels.

Eco-tourism has flourished in Flores in recent years and popular activities here include hiking and trekking to nearby volcanoes. A long causeway connects the town of Santa Elena to Flores and is one of the area’s most famous features.
