Praia Brava
Overview
Praia Brava Brazil is located on a narrow peninsula in the Northeast of Florianopolis (on Ilha de Santa Catarina) between the towns of Itajai and Camboriu. It’s accessed via a small road that winds through the hills and is often cluttered with traffic jams in high season. So expect to spend a little extra time in your car when coming or going to Praia Brava.
The scene at Praia Brava is fun and exciting. The crowd is often young and active. Praia Brava has wild waves that attract surfers from all over Brazil. The waves are said to be some of the "narliest" on the island and there’s a strong undertow so it’s not recommended for beginners. Aside from the surf, this beach has large selection of restaurants, shops, and hotels to choose from.

Praia Brava
Praia Brava Beach
Not surprisingly, most of the action takes place on the beach at Praia Brava. The beach is nearly 3000 meters long, has beautiful white sand, blue water and excellent waves for surfing. Singles and family mix it up on the beach here and restaurants and bar sporadically line the back of the beach. The most northern end of the beach seems to be a bit more young, hip and cool while the southern end seem to be more family orientated, mature crowd.
Surfing Praia Brava
Surfing is the big draw at Praia Brava. The southern part of the beach has calmer waves more suited for beginners. There are a couple surf shops located right on the beach were you can rent board and arrange sure lessons.
Escola de Surf Davi Severo is located right in the center of Praia Brava. They rent boards and offer classes
Brava Surf Club is located just north of the center of Praia Brava and offer classes and board rentals.
There are a few restaurants on Praia Brava. The most popular is Kioske do Pirata located on the north end of the beach. In the early evening people gather and eat, drink and mingle.
