Overview
Praia dos Ingleses, Florianopolis is located on the northeast side of Santa Catarina Island. Praia dos Inglese "English" is said to have taken its name from a British shipwreck survivor centuries ago. The 5 km long Praia dos Inglese is one of the finest beaches on the Island of Santa Catarina and has therefore become an extremely popular tourist destination. Several high-rise hotels have popped-up and the prices for anything from a hotel room, to restaurants to a beer cost will cost you a premium here.
Praia dos Ingleses is popular with Argentineans and is considered a family beach. The excellent infrastructure at Ingleses offers up everything you need in a vacation. Restaurants, bars, grocery stores, movie theaters and shopping are all available in this small, self-containing town.
Praia do Inglese Transportation
Getting in and out of Praia dos Ingleses is fairly simple. Buses run from the central terminal in Centro Florianopolis and run up and down the coasts from Canasvieiras to Lagoa da Conceicao. If you’re arriving from an international location, Florianopolis has a domestic airport with connections in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. It is recommended that you rent a car when visiting Florianopolis as many of the beaches and attractions are spread out over 100 miles of coastline.

Praia dos Ingleses Beach
The beach is the main attraction at Ingleses and the turquoise blue water is warm and excellent for swimming. The waves don’t get too big so there isn’t much surfing at Praia dos Ingleses, but the 5 km of white sand is great for families and sunbathing.
Praia dos Ingleses Sand Dunes
There are dunes that separate the neighboring beach, Santinho, create another natural attraction that should not be missed. The sport of sand-boarding is practiced here and is well worth a try. Boards can be rented on location.
