Riviera Nayarit Travel Guide

Riviera Nayarit Overview

Riviera Nayarit, Mexico is a 180 miles of coast line on the Pacific Coast starting at Nuevo Vallarta in the south and running up to Playa Novillero in the north.    This pristine piece of Mexican coastline is positioned to become the next huge tourist destination rivaling Riviera Maya in the Yucatan Peninsula.    Massive development plans are already in progress creating massive all-inclusive mega resorts, golf courses and posh five star spas. Towns such as Nuevo Vallarta are completely dominated by high-rise hotels and resorts while smaller fishing villages such as Bucerias, Punta de Mita, Sayulita and San Pancho are just in their early stages of modern tourism development.

Situated directly on the Pacific Ocean with the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range lining the back, the Riviera Nayarit is positioned for continual growth over the next 20 years. The clear blue sea perfect for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing and surfing attracts thousands of visitors every month.

The easiest way to access the Riviera Nayarit is to fly in Puerto Vallarta and either rent a cart or take a bus up the coast. Just actors the river in Puerto Vallarta is Nuevo Vallarta, which is the gateway to Riviera Nayarit. Another option would be to fly into Tepic.   Regardless, we recommend renting a car to explore the Riviera Nayarit.
